Love this ap!

So many fun ways to use this- parties, gifts, lead your kids, boyfriend, spouse on a hunt to a surprise outing or gift. Or even to orient students or new employees.

Love KLIKAKLU

Our 10 grandchildren(ages7-17) were visiting us this summer. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and one of the children suggested we all play the game KLIKAKLU.The game was set up using digital photos, verbal clues, and GPS. We divided into teams and the search began. After the game,as we were heading home several of the teenagers suggested we play another game of KLIKAKLU later in the day.

Great concept but...

It fails in execution. It really seems to struggle/crash when you have to take a picture. Especially when you are trying to override a match. I was unable to complete a scavenger hunt as a result. If this gets fixed, I will definitely use it more. Until then, its just too unstable.

Great camping and hiking fun

This app is great fun for kids and adults. A modern way to explore your surroundings. Also hung out with the creator in line trying to pickup the latest iPhone, great guy.

:/

This would be a good app if it had my real age. I am over the age of thirteen, but it says I havent even been born yet. It is very frustrating because i planned to use this, this weekend.

This is what the smart device world was missing!!

Yesterday I successfully completed my first Klikaklu treasure hunt and it was a HUGE success!!! The birthday party theme was Legos, so I set up 9 points in my treasure hunt and I placed a small ziplock baggie with parts from a Lego toy. I had 3 teams, and 3 Lego toys, so I had 3 little color coded baggies at each point. Klikaklu has an awesome feature of "Staggered Treasure Hunt" and what that does is as each team logs in, it starts them at a different point. That way I didnt have to worry about any team cheating by watching another team find a point. They were too busy following the map, looking for their clues and I had the hunt spaced out just enough to make that work great. As each team got to the clue and matched the photo, I revealed the "Reward" which was a picture of where the Legos were hidden which was in the vicinity of the clue. I did it this way because each clue wasnt necessarily a good place to hide, so once the found the clue, they then had to identify the hidden treasure. I had 3 teams of around 15 kids total. Each team had an adult "team leader" that just made sure the kids didnt get too far off track. Even though Klikaklu is currently only for iPhone, we did our treasure hunt using 2 iPads and 1 iPad Mini. If you dont have a cellular plan with your iPad, youll need a Wifi hot spot for the location functionality to work. We had a "roving hot spot" and it worked great!! I am so impressed with everything about this app. The UX design is super slick and the only minor challenge we noticed was reading some of the hints in the direct sunlight with an Otterbox screen protector that reflected the sun, but that was more the screen protector causng that problem. Plain and simple, the way the app just works and makes sense to use - very intuitive and above all, its fun. Everyone one of the kids, from ages 6 to 13 had a complete blast and it was easily their favorite part of the party which included kickball. I mean anything that is more fun than kickball has to be awesome right? One more thing - when I was deciding on whether this app was going to do what I needed, I emailed support to ask if I purchased the premium version, if the people playing my hunt also had to have premium. Before I had walked another 10 minutes, I already had an answer back telling me no, the "Players" only needed the basic version. That kind of support on an app that is designed to be a fun tool, a learning tool and a means to get kids involved in things like learning to read and navigate by a map is an app worth paying for. I wholeheartedly recommend purchasing this app and setting up your own treasure or scavenger hunts and get your kids to turn off the game console, get off the couch and get involved in an adventure! Before the party was over, there were several people that wanted to know more about the app and use it for their family and even for a youth group. Without question, I give this app 5 stars. It does my heart good to know that we still have inventive, creative people here in America creating products that are both useful in learning and fun. Great job!!!!

Great App. Almost Perfect

I used Klikaklu for a 7th grade field trip that had the students (250 of them) search for specific natural features at a local state park then answer questions about them. It worked fantastically for that purpose. The one addition that I really think is missing from this app is a compass feature that points the user in the direction of what they are searching for. Some students had a hard time understanding the top-down map with regards to what direction they should go. I would love to see that in a later version.

Photo Matching is Tough

Good idea but photo matching is tough.

Images not shown

I created a hunt for my kids and when they went to play, the images showed up blank. Huge disappointment for them! Also, while creating the hunt, the app shut down several times and I had to start over.

Very Fun Afternoon

My friends and I used this app for my 27th birthday party. My mom designed a hunt leading us around a small part of town to the restaurant where we ate dinner. The pictures all matched well, and after each clue had been solved, we had polls about our favorite birthday foods, quizzes about me for my friends to answer, and pictures of me from past birthdays. The prize at the last clue was the name of the restaurant, which we were now next door to. It was enjoyable for all of us, and we (four teenage girls) found that one device was plenty for all of us. We passed it around, and all used our knowledge of the area to solve the clues and find the pictures. The app was very easy to use, and even though three of us hadnt really used it before, we didnt have any trouble figuring out how it worked.

Love

Kids 3-12 played this all day long! Love it!

Hope this gets popular...

Like geocaching, but cooler. The only problem is when youre the first person in your town/city to get it.

Really cool!

This app is a lot of fun and Im glad to have found it. Its something great to have and it has the satisfaction whenever you complete a search. Also its a lot of fun to adventure around town on a scavenger hunt taken to the next level.

A Work in Progress

Im inclined to believe this can be a great app. Theres just a few bugs to work out. First, I deleted some hunts that stayed on forever. Finally, I spent several hours driving around town making a new hunt. When it upgraded, the new hunt is gone, and one of the old ones is back. Second, I would really like the ability to zoom in and out within the app. Also, it would be marvelous if they made a better tutorial. I get how to use the app, but walk me through a scavenger hunt and a treasure hunt. What will I see? What will my players see? I dont want to give hints if they just show up.

Zimmerman today papers hunt

This is such a fun app to play

Best app ever

This is the most clever app I own.

Total Blast

Great way to entertain friends and family!

Crashing with iOS 8.0.2-Bummer

I created a hunt for my students last year, and was about to replicate it with my new class, but the app crashes whenever I try to share it. It seems to work better on the previous iOS. Hope this gets fixed, as it is a great activity to use in class.

Really fun app!!!

I was looking for a fun twist on our usual puzzle based treasure hunt at Christmas and THIS IS IT!!! I just tested it out in the neighborhood and it seems to work flawlessly. You can create a hunt and then go back and edit a hunt to add more locations. Excited to use it for our family at Christmas!
